I told myself I wasn't going to order again until after the move, regardless of what was being retired.

Well I ordered 2 dress forms and Felicity's Guitar. The cost (with the free shipping code) was only $32 which I think is a great deal.

The dress forms will be great since I really enjoy sewing, and the guitar really was a good deal.

But wait Jessi, you say, you don't collect accessories. I KNOW. I totally caved. I've wanted this guitar for so long (I wish it was still the nice one with the ribbon that matched the book) and Felicity really gets spoiled. If AG impresses me with the Guitar (we'll see) who knows what other accessories will be on the way (probably no mess kit... can't believe they are getting rid of that)

Anyhow- I resisted all the outfits I've been wanting. I need to buy a house. Not doll clothes.

And alas, another 100 days starts today. (btw for those interested- I went 109 days)

Congratulations on going 109 days and still posting on this board. You must have a lot of resolve. Getting a house is a wonderful goal, however. Did you already buy a house or are you still saving?

I had the old guitar and now I have the new guitar. I sold the old guitar on e-Bay for $75 and am very happy with the new guitar when I consider the price.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Posting on the board has been the toughest part- you don't realize how much it's buy buy buy until you stop.

No, we haven't bought the house yet, we won't be buying a house until the summer- although we already have the money. We are moving to Iowa for DH to start his PhD in August, so next week while I go to Texas for a wedding, my husband is going house hunting in Iowa city. We aren't just looking at actual houses and will probably end up buying a condo because of the market in that area- it looks like a nice condo is going to cost the same as a low end house though.

I'm just happy to not be renting anymore. A condo/house costs so much up front but even if you resell at a loss, you get some of the money back. Renting, once you are at the point where you can make a down payment, just feels like throwing money into a black hole.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well when I was little and had 3 dolls, I had about 10 outfits between them and one accessory (Felicity's Needlework frame). My parents weren't big on buying accessories because most of them I could play with something else to make due with what it did.

So when I became an adult collector I had 9 dolls and it was about displaying them seasonally. So my goal was to have each of the core outfits for each of the dolls.

I'm getting close to being there.

Display and storage wise I don't have a lot of room for accessories- and they are very expensive. Until I get all the outfits I want, I don't really want to get too much into them. Then I think I will collect for my "favorites" Felicity, Kirsten, and Molly- rather than for everyone.

I think you'll be happy with the dress forms. I think mine is very neat, and even my father (whose first words when he saw Addy's striped dress involved the word "ugly" ) said it was really cute.

And I'm really a cheap person, and I think your total looks quite reasonable. So good job!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well the book cover shows a burgundy, but the picture with Ms. Manderly shows pink. So I guess it could be either.
